What You’ll Contribute to OHM Advisors

As an Engineer within the Water Resources team, you will assist and lead technical work on a wide range of water resource projects across the Midwest.

EWRG works on a variety of water, wastewater, and stormwater projects including the modeling of distribution and collection systems, asset management, stream restoration, ecological services, green infrastructure, and a range of facility designs. The Water Resources team completes studies, design and construction administration for vertical assets such as storge tanks, pump stations, valve vaults, and treatment facilities. 

A successful candidate for the Engineer position is team oriented, organized, and has strong interpersonal skills. The candidate takes initiative and is willing to learn more about the software, regulations, and technology associated with our project delivery.

Your Responsibilities 

  • Assist and lead technical planning, design, and construction support on various water and wastewater projects that may include collection systems, pumping stations and conveyance, wastewater treatment, distribution and pumping, storage, and water treatment.
  • Develop engineering plans and specifications for construction documents.
  • Develop and complete applications, permits, engineering reports and specifications.
  • Pilot and bench-scale study project execution and assessment.
  • Prepare engineering calculations.
  • Advance your understanding in physical/chemical, biological, and chemical treatment unit processes.
  • Support design analysis through quantitative and qualitative evaluation.
  • Prepare engineer and cost estimates.
  • Communicate project details with other design engineers.
  • Attend and/or conduct client and project meetings.
  • Conduct field investigations (data collection, measurements, process observations, inspections) and engineering services during design and construction activities.
  • Attend seminars and/or training classes.

What you will need to Succeed 

  • Team-oriented mindset and strong listening and collaboration skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take the initiative to solve challenging problems.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
  • Engineering-in-Training preferred with desire to obtain Professional Engineers.
