  • Essential Functions:

  • Client Contact:

    • Develop and maintain a peer/coach relationship with residents.

    • Provides residents with guidance on how to maintain stable sober housing, how to live in a communal setting with shared responsibilities, household management and communication and relationship enhancement when needed; teaches skills as needed related to employment and housing, provide transportation as needed, facilitate house meetings and sober living activities, and enforce the house rules.

    • Provides crisis intervention and mediation as necessary.

    • Provide management of the home, upkeep, schedule repairs, grocery shopping, etc.

  • Community Resources:
    • Coordinates, makes referrals, or arranges for appropriate community resources when needed, acts as an advocate if necessary. Teaches residents how to utilize the systems. Maintains ongoing contacts (phone, meetings, conferences) with other professionals involved as needed, including collateral contacts with community resources/services. Attends all court hearings as required or requested by the courts.

  • Recordkeeping Requirements:
    • Organization and maintenance of documentation of written client information.

    • Record keeping and copying of necessary information, dissemination to appropriate individuals within the agency and any outside agencies based on departmental requirements.

    • Monitoring of finances of the residents.

    • Participates in staff training, supervisory staff meetings & program consultation.

  • Special Projects:
    • May be involved in the planning, organization, and implementation of special events or department specific projects or seasonal program changes.
    • Maintains accurate and reliable attendance.
    • In times of need, employees may be asked to complete related duties other than those indicated above.
  • Performance/Physical Requirements:
    • Work is performed in the recovery home and in the community. This may involve extensive driving.
    • English reading and writing skills required
    • Interacts verbally with coworkers, representatives from outside agencies, and families
    • Attention to detail and confidentiality required
    • Works flexible hours
    • Requires typing and computer competency, including Windows applications for moderate levels of typing case notes and other paperwork.
  • Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma with AOD experience.
    • Bachelor’s degree w/ a CDCA, and 1 year in recovery is preferred.
    • Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License and safe driving record.
