We are seeking an inspirational, experienced, analytical, and results-driven Commercial Vice President for our Finishing, Dispensing & Filtration (FDF) group as part of the greater Industrial Automation & Finishing (IAF) segment of OTC.

The successful candidate will be responsible for elevating key customer and vendor relationships, team development, sales excellence, and application expertise, all leading to profitable growth. This pivotal role involves strategic planning, development, and execution of initiatives to enhance our leading position and expand our market capture. This position will also lead commercial integration of new acquisitions.

Operating in over 24 states from North Dakota to Texas and South Carolina, OTC's Finishing, Dispensing, and Filtration (FDF) group is North America's most trusted resource for liquid and powder finishing and dispensing application equipment and service, and a leading supplier of materials used in customer applications such as filtration products. The FDF Group is the key partner to some of the most recognized manufacturers of Finishing & Filtration products in the industry.
The capabilities of the Finishing, Dispensing, and Filtration group go well beyond just a supplier of product. Our seasoned team includes technical sales engineers, design and installation engineers, best in class service and repair technicians, inside sales and customers service representatives, and product managers. The FDF Engineered Systems Group, has unmatched industry expertise and has designed and installed custom finishing systems for some of the largest industrial manufacturers in the world.

This position reports directly to the President of the Industrial Automation & Finishing Segment. Direct reports include branch commercial leaders (AIC, CCIS, FACT, Midway, and Tape), Service and Repair, and Filter Product Managers.

There are currently over 90 associates generating over $150M in revenue reporting up to this role with businesses spread throughout The Midwest and Southeastern regions..

This position is responsible for helping formulate and execute strategic initiatives for growth, including acquisitions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Sales Leadership & Management: Lead sales strategy, training, market analysis, and manage the sales team towards achieving profitable sales targets. Ensure effective department management aligning with company policies.
  • Key Customer Engagement: With sales team, build relationships with key customers, especially our Top 20. Own effort to define how we continue to improve our value to these key customers. Focus our efforts on overserving where we can grow.
  • Develop Teams: Leads effort to assure training and skills development. Sets sales territories with Branch Managers. Develops sales compensation programs with President and HR. Builds bench strength.
  • Leadership Team Collaboration: Partner with IAF leadership and corporate resources to provide expertise and achieve objectives. Collaborate with VP Operations for profitable growth.
  • Sales Forecasting & Attainment: Establish forecasts, monitor sales activities for optimum ROI, and provide market intelligence for strategic decision-making.
  • Sales Process Management: Develop strategic plans to enhance sales processes and align goals with company values. Oversee the implementation and refinement of sales KPIs and performance metrics. Lead deployment of CRM solution.
  • Service & Repair: This position spearheads our strategic growth in both geographic and product capability offerings.
What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years of industry-related experience. You must be technically savvy to communicate the value of our products and solutions with customers, partners and your teams
  • Minimum 10 years in sales or product leadership role; management experience leading teams across multiple geographies preferred. Your management history must include growing and evolving teams into top performers with an account-expansion mindset through talent assessment, talent acquisition, performance management and succession planning
  • Proven sales and market expertise, strong analytical and leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of the industrial products and services market
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time
  • Familiarity with sales operations and financial reporting
  • Familiarity with utilization of ERP and CRM
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
