Ohio Department of Rehabilitation Services is Hiring a PCA Personal Care Assistant Near Belleville, IL
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide support and assistance to individuals in need of personal care services. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping individuals maintain their independence and improve their quality of life. This is a paid position with opportunities for growth and development.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Provide assistance with mobility and transfers
- Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Monitor and report any changes in client's condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or similar role is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of basic caregiving techniques and principles
- Ability to provide physical and emotional support to individuals in need
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
