Ohel is seeking a creative and energetic self-starter to oversee our volunteer program. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and possess the ability to engage the community and connect groups to Ohel’s mission. The successful Coordinator of Volunteer Engagement will create a menu of seasonal and year-round opportunities for potential volunteers, facilitating the placement of volunteers in meaningful and engaging work, while providing enhancement to the work done at Ohel. The candidate we are seeking will be comfortable working with individuals, groups, students, retirees, as well as current and potential donors. Responsibilities include recruiting, training and placing volunteers, creating ongoing as well as seasonal volunteer opportunities in conjunction with various departments, creating and implementing various special events, overseeing a community wide gift drive, as well as ongoing community engagement. Our ideal candidate has 2-5 years of experience in coordinating a volunteer program. This full-time position is located in Brooklyn.
