Quality Assurance Supervisor- Food manufacturing

We are seeking a meticulous individual to fill the role of Quality Assurance Supervisor. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive background in quality assurance, with a focus on ensuring that our products consistently meet or surpass customer expectations through the implementation of stringent quality control measures. Demonstrating proficiency in managing quality assurance programs, conducting audits, and spearheading continuous improvement endeavors is essential for success in this position. Moreover, the selected candidate will be tasked with overseeing audits and ensuring alignment with internal quality standards and regulatory mandates.

Primary Functions

• Collaborates with production and QA personnel to facilitate effective communication and seamless operations.
• Proficiency in conducting quality audits and inspections to identify non-conformances and areas for improvement.
• Ensures strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safety policies across all processes.
• Performs comprehensive line checks encompassing lot code verification, weight assessment, and label verification to maintain product integrity.
• Engages in HACCP monitoring activities to guarantee compliance with critical control points and food safety measures.
• Inspection of raw materials, packaging components, in-process and finished product to defined specifications.
• Monitor and enforces good manufacturing processes, upholding compliance standards throughout production.
• Inspect raw materials for proper specifications, codes, lot numbers and dates including information necessary for lot tracking.
• Inspection of incoming raw materials, and release of those raw materials for production
• Checks premixes to ensure correct quantities are batched.
• Creates / Updates records using Excel and Word.
• Takes on various administrative duties assigned by the manager to support overall departmental functions.
• Other administrative duties assigned by manager.
• Manage & review QA daily duties.
• Prepare & renew HACCP document for 3rd party audit
• Maintains retention records and samples.
• Operate & calibrate lab equipment for data analysis.

Qualifications/Skills/Knowledge Requirements

• Bachelor’s degrees in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in food manufacturing facility.
• Proven experience in Quality Assurance within the food manufacturing industry, with a focus on audit processes.
• In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices.
• Strong analytical skills to assess and improve quality control processes.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
• Leadership capabilities to guide and mentor the QA team.
• Must be able to use spreadsheets (Excel), word processing (MS Word), and other relevant tools.
• Possess experience with regulatory audits (HACCP, GMP, SQF)
• Nevada State Food Handler Card/Health Card
