Overview:
The office of Oefinger Dental & Associates is seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our dental family. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients. Duties:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of patients
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for dental procedures
- Take dental x-rays
- Perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs and documenting medical history
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic medical documentation systems
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique throughout all procedures
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient confidentiality
- Assist with front office tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology
- Ability to take accurate dental impressions and fabricate temporary restorations
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals
- Proficiency in using dental practice management systems (Dentrix ascend a plus but not required)
