Odyssey Systems Consulting Group, Ltd. is Hiring a Clinical Research Coordinator Near Silver Spring, MD

Position Summary

Odyssey Systems seeks a Clinical Research Coordinator to support the prestigious Center for Military Psychiatry and Neuroscience (CMPN) award in collaboration with the US Army Medical Research Directorate-West (USAMRD-W). The Clinical Research Coordinator supports field-based human subjects research within a military setting, assisting with coordination, data collection, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to: 

  • Work closely with technical staff to support the day-to-day program and operations, focusing on applied research related to the impact of insufficient sleep, circadian misalignment, and fatigue on Warfighter performance, health, and wellbeing.
  • Assist in writing research protocols, executing research studies, and analyzing data, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in manuscript preparation.
  • Oversee the human resource support services for volunteer recruitment and screening for research studies.
  • Prepare and maintain adequate supplies for field data collection and perform necessary documentation associated with field studies.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for field data collection, ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practices and relevant government regulations.
  • Monitor data collection equipment to ensure accurate and real-time recording of data.
  • Implement quality control measures for various laboratory and field research procedures, verifying the accuracy of test results.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor while interacting with human research participants and research collaborators.
  • Oversee the recruitment and screening of volunteers for human research protocols, whether on-site or in the field.
  • Lead field data collection efforts, including administering tasks, questionnaires, informed consent, and other related paperwork.
  • Collect physiological data and assist in compiling and entering data for later analyses.
  • Prepare and obtain approvals for human scientific protocols investigating the relationships between sleep/circadian/fatigue parameters and military-relevant outcomes, aligning with department mission requirements and in support of the Physiological Health Program Area and the Psychological Health Program Area of the Military Operational Medicine Research Area Directorate (RAD III).
  • Train research assistants responsible for executing tasks required by the study.
  • Be willing to travel by airplane, car, or other modes of transportation (either inside or outside of the continental US) to collect and/or process data during military operations, as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Clearance: Ability to Obtain NACI

Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, behavioral sciences, public health).

Years’ experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in public health and behavioral sciences

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of research ethics and regulations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work in field settings and adapt to changing conditions.
  • Basic understanding of data collection and analysis processes.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of data integrity and participant safety.
  • Relevant certification in clinical research (preferred).

Onsite at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Silver Spring, MD

Anticipated travel up to 25%
