POSITION SUMMARY:

The Application Support Analyst role at Ocean State Job Lot (“OSJL” and “Company”) provides Tier 2 level of support on our internal business applications. The role partners with the business and technical staff to complete application projects. The role is responsible for problem solving, connecting with end users, and providing excellent and timely customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide Tier 2 support of production applications.
• Maintain application configuration including user security.
• Monitor application health and performance.
• Create knowledge base documentation and training materials for End User Support.
• Create technical documentation for internal department consumption.
• Interpret, author, and update technical and user documentation as needed.
• Prioritize and balance tasks across multiple applications.
• Interact effectively with both technical and non-technical users.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in information technology, or a related field is preferred.
• 1 or more years of IT support experience is required.
• Proven experience supporting mission critical applications.
• Basic knowledge of Windows desktop, server operating system, and relational databases, especially Microsoft SQL Server.
• Ability to understand systems and become a subject matter expert of certain applications is highly desired.
• Experience creating and executing test cases for releases and functional enhancements.
• Proficient in Google platform (i.e., Sites, Slides, Drive, Docs, Sheets).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Works primarily in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety and health hazard
  potential.
• Works in an office environment remaining stationary at a desk, table, or computer workstation for extended periods of time. Frequently uses near vision for reading and computer tasks.
