At OC Broad Services, we are an agency that provides in-home services to relieve family members from the constant demand of responsibility of providing care for their loved ones with any developmental disability. We are looking for caregivers or anyone who is wanting a career in providing care to those who are in need. If you want to make a difference in someone's life, join our team!

We are looking for caregiver who lives close or in the city of Orange, California. This client is a 77 year old female with cancer who needs assistance with light household chores, companionship, and supervision. This client's proposed schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday - flexible hours on these days. Totaling approx. 20 hours per week.

OC Broad Services cannot guarantee hours however, our staff will do their best to schedule you with the best placement based on your availability, experience, and location. OC Broad Services will work with you and the client very closely in creating and determining a schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Some of the essential functions can include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assisting with individual personal care, such as bathing, toileting, and brushing
  • Assisting with common daily living activities such as meal preparation, including planning, shopping, cooking activities
  • Assisting with Performing routine household activities aimed at maintaining a clean and safe home
  • Assisting with locating and scheduling appropriate medical services
  • Assisting with selecting and moving into a home
  • Assisting locating and choosing suitable house mates
  • Assisting with settling disputes with landlords
  • Becoming aware of and effectively using the transportation, police, fire, and emergency help available in the community to the general public;
  • Assisting with managing personal financial affairs
  • Assisting recruiting, screening, hiring, training, supervising, and dismissing personal attendants
  • Assisting with building and maintaining interpersonal relationships, including a Circle of Support;
  • Assisting with participating in community life
  • Monitor, evaluate, and record client progress according to measurable goals described in treatment and care plan
  • Ability to effectively communicate with consumers and other team members
  • Assists in the implementation of Individual Service Plans
  • Work all the assigned schedules, including but not limited to; arriving and departing on time, requesting time off in advance, and notifying supervisor of changes in your assigned work schedule
  • If and when working nightshifts will be responsible for and alert to person’s served nighttime awakening and behaviors
  • Attend regular contact meeting with direct supervisor
  • Report any and all incidents, behaviors and occurrences immediately to the supervisor including incidents of possible abuse or neglect
  • Ensures each individual’s right are protected
  • Treats each person served with dignity and respect

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Possess High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Hold a valid California Driver's License in good standing; with insurance
  • Applicant must be certified in First Aid and CPR by the first day of employment
  • Must be open to background check

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee is occasionally to frequently asked to lift and or move 50-75 pounds and maneuver a manual wheelchair. Employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move person served of any weight. The employee is frequently asked to sit, walk, stand, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, pull and reach. The employee must have fine manipulation ability of both hands. The employee must constantly listen, talk, see and focus. The employee must be able to handle highly stressful situations on a day to day basis.
