OBAYASHI is Hiring a Finance Manager Near Foster, CA

Reports to:
Director of Finance, North American Regional Headquarters (“NARHQ”)
Supervises:
Deputy Manager, Financial Analyst /Accountant
Primary Role:
Support Director of Finance on all financial aspects of NAHRQ, including financial strategy, planning, and analysis of financial performance at the consolidated level.
Salary:
$120,000-$160,000
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead preparation of consolidated financial statements as well as its plans and projections of the North American group companies of Obayashi Corporation (“Obayashi”).
  • Perform analysis of consolidated financial data to assist Director of Finance to plan and propose financial and tax strategies for NARHQ.
  • Review, check and analyze financial reports of Obayashi’s North American group companies (“group companies”), report to Director of Finance and to Obayashi’s global headquarters in Tokyo (“global HQ”), as needed.
  • Coordinate necessary communications with the global HQ and financial team of each group companies on financial, accounting and tax matters.
  • Conduct financial analysis of major construction projects of group companies.
  • Coordinate with finance team of group companies and financial institutions to maintain parent company guarantees for bonds, construction contracts, lines of credit, letters of credit, etc.
  • Lead group companies’ data collection for J-SOX and follow up communication with global HQ.
  • Conduct credit review of major business partners (clients, JV partners, etc.) of group companies.
  • Prepare supporting data related to group companies for Obayashi’s tax filings in collaboration with Accounting Department and external tax consultants
  • Maintain corporate registrations of Obayashi and its non-acquired subsidiaries in North America (“non-acquired subsidiaries”)
  • Maintain and perform analysis of periodical financial statements of Obayashi’s North American holding companies (“holding companies”) and non-acquired subsidiaries.
  • Lead preparation of financial planning and projections for holding companies and non-acquired subsidiaries.
  • Assist Director of Finance on financial and tax due diligence and related matters of M&A target companies
  • The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those listed above and other duties deemed necessary to fulfill responsibilities of Finance Department may be assigned
EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • 8 years of accounting, tax and financial tasks experience
  • Work experience at international company preferred
  • CPA preferred
SKILLS:
  • Practical knowledge of major corporate tax laws and their practices in US and Canada
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written both in Japanese and English
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
  • Fluent Japanese to communicate better with Tokyo HQ
