WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

This position will focus specifically on Litigation. The successful candidate will provide direct support to one of our local trial lawyers. The Litigation Paralegal will be supported by an Administrative Assistant and is surrounded by other talented professionals.

Litigation - Paralegal Responsibilities:

Demonstrate ability to manage the business and customer service aspects of the firm, including but not limited to:

  • Calling back prospective clients immediately and properly capturing and inputting data
  • Using case management system for all significant firm activities, and maintaining detailed and accurate daily billable and non-billable hours
  • Excellent communication with existing clients to include timely return of phone calls and email correspondence
  • Excellent writing skills, including grammar and proper formatting, as well as excellent phone etiquette and detailed note-taking

· Assist with management of trial preparation including discovery, pleadings and court filings

· Prepare legal documents and correspondence with clients/courts/parties

· Manage case documents and internal filing system

· Open, organize and maintain files

· Manage attorney’s calendar and scheduling

· Docket and track deadlines

Litigation - Paralegal Qualifications:

Demonstrate ability to juggle multiple complex cases at the same time and set priorities, including but not limited to:

  • 5 years of experience in paralegal field
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Screening potential cases and assessing quality of cases
  • Performing research
  • Reviewing and managing case-related documentation
  • Working with opposing counsel
  • Calendaring for attorney, including setting client consultations, conferences, and Court dates
  • Meeting all deadlines, including timely filings with the Court
  • Drafting and mailing correspondence, complaints, motions, discovery and other litigation pleadings
  • Coordinating the gathering of information, documents, and evidence from clients and prepare trial notebooks and organize exhibits
  • Maintaining the physical file
  • In-trial legal support

WHAT WE OFFER:

Oast & Taylor offers a highly competitive salary and a suite of holistic benefits designed to help our team members balance their personal and professional life commitments.

· $50,000 - $65,000 per year with Bonus potential

· 3 Year Training Program, Certification or Continuing Education Reimbursement, etc.
