Oakview Terrace Assisted Living Facility is Hiring a Wellness Director/LPN Near Port Richey, FL

  • The Director of Wellness is responsible for administration of resident care services in the community. He/She directs, plans, and coordinates service activities of professional nursing and auxiliary personnel in the rendering of care. The Director interprets policies and regulations to all nursing personnel and ensures compliance, as well as analyzes and evaluates nursing and related services rendered to improve quality of resident care and better utilize staff time and abilities. The Director also ensures the provision of in-servicing training programs for nursing personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements philosophy, objectives, policies and standards of nursing practice in accordance with the goals of the facility and individual community.
  • Monitors nursing care to assure that all residents are treated fairly, with kindness, dignity and respect.
  • Develops and maintains and periodically updates written policies and procedures that govern the functions of the wellness department as well as the community’s quality assurance program for the wellness department.
  • Completes daily rounds to observe residents and to determine if wellness needs are being met.
  • Review Resident progress notes, service plans, to ensure that they are informative and descriptive of the care provided and that they reflect the resident’s response to the plan of care.
  • Works with the Executive Director to develop, allocate and control the budget for the department of resident care services.
  • Maintains cohesive public and professional relationships including community, resident, family and medical providers.
  • Provide a formal liaison between the medical staff and the department of Resident Care Services.
  • Provides irection to care staff through written policies, procedures, routine staff meetings and written memos.
  • Serves on various committees such as resident service plans, Pharmaceutical Services, Infection Control Safety and Quality Assurance, as applicable, which evaluates activities within the community and to recommend changes in operations and follows up on committee recommendations affecting resident care services.
  • Participates in the assessment of residents to be admitted by evaluating the level and amount of care needed by the prospective residents in relation to existing nursing capabilities.
  • Coordinates the revision and implementation of infection control procedures. Assures all nursing staff is trained and utilizes all facets of infection control procedures to protect staff, residents and families.
  • Makes recommendations to the Executive Director regarding nursing care equipment/supplies required to meet the needs of the residents and assures that adequate supplies are available.
  • Assures that each resident’s attending physician and family or responsible party is promptly notified of any significant change in the resident’s health condition.
  • Ensures that nursing care development through the resident care plan is implemented and that the care plans are reviewed periodically and modified when necessary.
  • Coordinates resident care services with all other services and departments to assure that ensure proper care of the resident.
  • Assure that all physician orders are followed as prescribed.
  • Assures that each resident’s incident report is fully documented and reported in accordance with the policies and procedures of the facility and the state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Determines the staffing needs of the department necessary to meet the nursing needs of the residents.
  • Coordinates supervisory and ancillary nursing department schedules
  • Recruits, interviews and hires professional staff.
  • Reviews and evaluates the work performance of nursing staff as well counsel/discipline personnel according to the established company personnel policies.
  • Concern his/her self with the safety of all community residents in order to minimize the potential for fire and accidents. Also ensures that the community adheres to legal, safety, health, fire and sanitation codes by being familiar with the current MSDS.
  • Puts residents’ service first. Ensure that the resident and families receive the highest quality of services in a caring and compassionate atmosphere, which recognizes individuals, needs and rights.
  • Oversees and designates the Certified Medication Program in accordance with scope of practice, regulations and policies.
  • Is available at all times for consultation and direction.
