Under the general supervision of the Clinical Director/Manager of the unit, the Clinical Coordinator, RN provides oversight during the assigned shift for the clinical and non-clinical staff in the administering of excellent patient care and customer service. This position assumes clinical responsibility for the specialty by providing orientation, teaching, clinical supervision and evaluation of personnel assigned to the area. The Clinical Coordinator, RN supports the medical care of patients under the direction of the Medical Staff in pursuant to the objectives of the hospital.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited Nursing program: BSN preferred.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
One year clinical experience in specialty required. One year experience as a Clinical Coordinator / Charge Nurse preferred.
REQUIRED LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse. American Heart Association BLS required. Advance Cardiac Life Support, PALS or ENPC within 6 months of employment. TNCC within 18 months of hire and remain current in these certifications.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrated leadership ability and critical thinking skills required. Excellent communication skills. Computer skills.
WORK SCHEDULE:
This unit/department is staffed to provide coverage 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. It requires working weekends and holidays. Generally scheduled 12 hour shifts day or night rotations. Schedules and work shifts may be changed in respect to patient procedure demands and hospital census. During low census or low procedure volumes, staff may be required to float to other OakBend locations or nursing units where deemed competent, flex hours, rotate days off or be placed on call. Essential personnel during a disaster or emergency event; may be required to shelter in.
