Overview

This position is responsible for maintenance and repair services on a campus of 9 buildings for the University of Houston Athletics Department.

Tasks may include changing light bulbs, light plumbing and electrical troubleshooting, carpentry and even some patching and painting on occasion. This is an opportunity to learn about a wide range of equipment and services, and we will support an interest in learning and becoming more valuable.

The salary range is $17 to $19/ hour

Responsibilities

• Maintains a friendly, efficient, and positive customer service attitude toward customers, clients, and co-workers; anticipative of and responsive to customer needs.
• Checks, services, cleans, and replaces filters in all A/C air handling and heating units and documents the same.
• Cleans and maintains grills, ducts, and shaft ways in A/C, ventilating, and exhaust systems.
• Understands and demonstrates knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration codes and practices.
• Services and maintains various types of water and stem pumps.
• Performs on-call duties, as they are scheduled, and maintains communication status when on-call.
• Completes preventative maintenance work orders as well as customers work request work orders.
• Responds to any emergency situation as required and is responsible for snow removal as assigned.
• Maintains critical inventory needed to keep operations running; maintains and accounts for tools and supplies used.

Qualifications

• Position requires a high school diploma or G.E.D.
• Maintenance esperience and knowlege of basic buidling equipement.
• Ability to work on ladder
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
• Basic knowlege of plumbing systems and basic troubleshooting
• Knowledge of computers and computerized energy management systems a plus
