Oak View Group is Hiring an Events Set Up| Part Time| Miami Beach Convention Center Near Miami, FL

Overview

This position is responsible for performing janitorial, housekeeping, and event and room set up tasks as directed by the Event Operations Manager and/or Event Operations Supervisor.

This role will pay an hourly wage of $16.00. 

For PT roles: Benefits: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching.

Responsibilities

  • Performs janitorial tasks, including restroom cleaning, sweeping, mopping, trash removal and other duties as directed by the Event Operations Supervisor or department managers.
  • Operates mechanical equipment including scrubbers, floor machines, shampoo machines, and sweepers as needed.
  • Assists in bringing problem areas to the attention of the Event Operations Supervisor.
  • Assists the Event Operations Supervisor in identifying ways to increase efficiency and productivity within the facility.
  • Performs set-ups and breakdowns of meeting rooms/halls respective to tables, chairs, staging requirements as needed by the client.
  • Ensures proper care and use of facility equipment and supplies.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or equivalent desired.
  • Knowledge of basic janitorial and safety procedures, as well as standard public assembly facility standard room set-ups.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of basic janitorial and safety procedures, as well as standard public assembly facility standard rooms’ set-ups.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions from Floor Supervisors.
  • Ability to work with detail and efficiency.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

  • No certifications are required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the Utility Worker Job. While performing the responsibilities of the Utility Worker, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is constantly required to exert various types of physical exertion, such as prolonged reaching, bending, kneeling, and lifting. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

While performing the responsibilities of the Utility Worker, these work environment characteristics are representative of the environment the Utility Worker will encounter. The Utility Worker works in indoor and outdoor work settings with mild to adverse exposure to environmental hazards. The incumbent must be able to climb stairs and ladders and walk long distances to access all areas of the facility. The noise level in the work environment is usually mild to loud. Incumbents in this position work in varying settings and will be subject to noise and atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odor, dust, etc.
