WHO WE ARE: We are a Psychiatric practice providing mental health services to the Chicago and Western Suburb areas. As a growing organization, we are looking to hire an additional medical receptionist to be based out of our Wicker Park location. Our culture is best described as light-hearted, fun and caring. Our support staff (including you, if you are hired) are the backbone of our organization. We are very team oriented and we genuinely value each and every person on our team. As a medical receptionist for our practice, you will be a huge contributor to the culture and the success of this office. Each employee also cross train other job functions , giving you the opportunity to learn new skills. We work as a team however, the individual parts of our team must function well independently in their respective roles. Our practice handles a considerable amount of phone traffic for appointments and general inquiries. Since the majority of the job will be communicating with patients, individuals with excellent communication skills is a must. HEALTHCARE SETTING:

Day Shift
Monday-Thursday 9:30am-5:30pm
Friday - 9:30am-3:00pm
37 per week, with 40 hour option
Saturdays - No Saturday hours yet, possibly in the near future.

JOB DUITES:
Greeting patients/clients and answering all questions with professionalism and understanding
Answering phone calls
Checking and logging voicemails and retuning calls
Respond to phone calls, messages and emails in a courteous, professional and timely manner
Manage patients/clients or their families in a calm and respectful manner in time of distress, in-person and on the phone
Collect co-pays and balances at check-in/check-out and posting payments to our billing system
Discuss balances owed before time of service and payment plan options
Communicating with our off site billers to help resolve patient billing inquiries
Overall navigation of our EHR (Valant IO) with training
Verify and update patient/client demographic information including, creating and maintaining patient/client records and other documents to their charts
Verify eligibility, benefits and coverage of patient insurances prior to scheduling appointments. Must have the ability to explain basic insurance to patients/clients
Performing insurance required Pre-authorizations as needed
Follow and maintain best practices front desk standards as defined by the practice and perform other related tasks or duties as necessary
Calling in Prescriber RX's as needed
Understanding of basic medical writing and terminology
Opportunity to train as a TMS and Spravato Technician to fill in for our techs during their absence
