O.E. Durant, Inc. is Hiring a Sales Administrator Near Hanahan, SC

O.E. DuRant, Inc, a subsidiary of Moran Towing Corporation, has a new opportunity available in the position of Sales Administrator. This full-time, hourly, non-exempt position sits in O.E. DuRant, Inc.'s Charleston office location, and reports to the General Manager.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Sales Administrator supports the sales team and provides an important link between O.E. DuRant, Inc. (“Company”) and the customer. This position is responsible for sourcing provisions, bonded goods, cabin products, and deck and engine equipment for customer orders.

While not fulfilling duties as a Sales Administrator, the Sales Administrator is required to assist as a Warehouse Associate for Chandlery Activities. A Warehouse Associate is responsible for all aspects of the warehouse including receiving, storage, palletizing, and loading of Chandlery orders with full adherence to workplace and food safety.

In addition, the Sales Administrator may be asked to perform additional duties on O.E. DuRant lineboats based on qualifications.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED, TO:

Processing Quotes

  • Validate data and report key information to management.
  • Order items within established guidelines and/or specifications.
  • Receive quote requests directly from the customer or from the sales team and verify that the item is approved for quoting.
  • Request price bids from suppliers and validate costs.
  • Calculate shipping, duties, and import/export fees associated with the quote.
  • Generate customer sales quotations by following pricing guidelines.
  • Record and file all documentation as backup.

Processing Orders

  • Review and research, as necessary, to understand the product or service characteristics of the order request.
  • Audit order requests to ensure all required documentation is included.
  • Verify accuracy of all documentation and ensure all necessary approvals are in place.
  • Communicate any discrepancies to management.
  • Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, and recommend suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness for assigned orders.
  • Validate customer purchase order pricing and supplier pricing.
  • Input all customer and supplier orders into ERP system (pricing, item and packaging specifications, quality requirements, production approvals, shipping marks, shipping schedules, etc.).
  • Send authorized POs to supplier and file hard copies appropriately.
  • Maintain and validate supplier pricing lists.
  • Negotiate pricing for Deck and Engine supplies.
  • Visit suppliers’ facilities to qualify them as new sources.
  • Assist in resolving production, design, quality and/or delivery problems.
  • Study market prices and trends and advise management of market and vendor conditions which will affect contract pricing and/or performance.
  • Build and maintain strong customer and vendor relationships.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License and good driving record required. Both must be maintained during employment and the incumbent must adhere to the requirements of the Company’s Driver Safety Policy.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel in an environment requiring administrative, financial, and clerical duties to support the office.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain focused with repetitive tasks and prioritize own workload.
  • Ability to make arithmetic calculations and Metric vs. Imperial conversions.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect with customers and advance business objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills, including demonstrated ease with phone and in-person contacts.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to be a positive member of a strong team environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • College diploma.
  • Previous sales experience focusing on outside sales, lead generation/development, and/or ensuring ongoing customer satisfaction.

  • Use a computer for typing and data entry with good finger dexterity.
  • Frequently reach with hands and arms.
  • Work safely and navigate in an industrial setting.

  • Read and write small letters and numbers.
  • Occasionally crouch or stoop.
  • Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Hear and respond to verbal communication in noisy environments such as piers, docks, and warehouses with moving heavy equipment.
  • Withstand occasional exposure to heat, cold and or/humidity.
