OVERVIEW OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The incumbent will perform apprentice-level painting duties and perform semi-skilled level work in a combination of other trades. Duties will include:

• Prepare various building materials and surfaces for final finishing. Includes but not limited to proper preparations by cleaning, sanding and smoothing by other methods.

• Select and apply all types of primers, paints and other types of finishings.

• May perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance, repair, installation and construction tasks in the building trades.

• May assist with other trades to keep jobs on schedule and achieve the desired outcome.

• The incumbent may be assigned to other maintenance duties besides those described above.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Painting experience preferred.

Valid Class D Driver License Required

OPERATING NEEDS:

Must possess and maintain a valid New York State driver's license as a term and condition of employment.

Must have the ability to understand and carry out instructions, including written material.

Must have knowledge of good safety practices.

Must be able to work independently as well as with others.

Must have a working knowledge of the safe operation of hand and stationary shop tools.

Must have the ability to perform medium to heavy manual labor.
