OVERVIEW OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Perform journey level work in the primary trade of plumbing and performs skilled and semi-skilled levels of work in carpentry, electrical and masonry in the repair and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
· Repair, maintain, and install various plumbing fixtures and appliances such as sinks, showers, toilets, urinals, drinking fountains, hot water appliances, etc.
· Repair, maintain, and install water distribution lines, sewer infrastructure components, and natural gas or propane supply lines.
· Repair, maintain, and install HVAC appliances, components, and systems.
· Plumbing duties will include project planning, lay out procedures, blueprint reading, purchasing and overall coordination of assigned projects.
· Perform carpentry duties such as blocking, framing, repair, and trim work.
· Complete basic electric duties including changing devices, installing controls, and fixture installation.
· Execute masonry work such as concrete demolition and pouring slabs.
· Operate and maintain a variety of equipment including dump trucks, aerial trucks, loaders and similar construction equipment.
· Daily supervision of other permanent and seasonal staff will be required along with training of such staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Four years of full-time experience in plumbing under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services.
When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.
OPERATING NEEDS:
· Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
· Must have a working knowledge of the safe operation of hand and stationary shop tools.
· Must have the ability to operate a variety of driven machinery.
· Must be physically able to perform medium to heavy manual labor.
· Must be available to work a variable schedule, including weekends as needed.
