The Team You’ll Work With
The Mayor’s Office of Citywide Event Coordination and Management (CECM) is tasked with
coordination and management of all event permitting activity in New York City. CECM gathers and
disseminates information about upcoming and ongoing public events, including gatherings in City
parks, processions/parades, athletic races, street fairs, outdoor concerts, block parties, commercial and
promotional events and filming of motion pictures and television. CECM ensures informed decision-
making by the various permitting agencies, as well as compliance by permit applicants. CECM also acts
as an internal and external resource to the event community on overall event coordination, permitting,
and management. CECM works to enhance communication among various agencies involved in the
issuance of permits. The Street Activity Permit Office (SAPO), a unit within CECM, is responsible for the
issuing of permits for the use of city streets, sidewalks and pedestrian plazas in all five boroughs for
commercial/promotional and civic events, as well as street fairs, block parties and farmers markets.
The Problems You’ll Solve
Reporting to the Deputy Director of SAPO & Director of Operations, the Finance & Strategic Projects
Manager is responsible for billing and reviewing all financial documents for all street fairs, including
assisting applicants with their street fair vendor lists, income statement forms and check processing.
The Finance & Strategic Projects Manager is also responsible for permitting all health fairs citywide and
supporting the Director of operations with permitting all events for Elected officials.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Manager to invoice citywide SAPO race applicants including calculating and assessing all SAPO
related fees.
About You
• Education – Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in the Event Management and
o Extensive knowledge of all active and permitted markets/fairs citywide.
o Expert command of data entry and administrative tasks including document
management, invoicing, event conflict detection, interagency communication, reporting
and event mapping.
o Provide excellent customer service and answer all questions related to permitting of
markets/fairs citywide.
Salary
The City of New York Office of the Mayor’s compensation package includes a market competitive
salary, equity for all full-time roles and exceptional benefits. Our cash compensation range for this role
is $65,000 to $75,000.

factors.
