Job Description:

  • Oversee implementation and improve behavioral health programs through: Detailed implementation planning and ongoing coordination of clinical, operational and fiscal quality improvement efforts for behavioral health initiatives including the Emergency Department (ED) Substance Use Disorder (SUD) service teams (ED Leads), and the ED Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Initiatives
  • Provide project management to support H H CATCH, CATCH-Lite, and SUD service teams at relevant H H facilities as needed
  • Support the development of H H SUD policies and procedures in adherence with all local, state, and federal regulations
  • Facilitation of interdisciplinary workgroup meetings with H H ED and SUD hospital leadership focused on the implementation and optimization of ED SUD service teams and ED MAT initiatives
  • Implementation and optimization of ED SUD/CATCH/ED MAT dashboards, workflows and electronic medical record (EMR) clinical documentation tools and reports to inform QI and satisfy grant funding deliverables
  • Contribution to peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations on ED SUD/MAT service interventions, highlighting outcomes and informing best practices for future programming
  • Liaise with academic or other partners to conduct program research/evaluation
  • Manage ED SUD teams program budgets and assist in the optimization of ED SUD service teams and ED MAT initiatives revenue
  • Provide ongoing supervision and support to student interns, may take on direct reports
  • Provide support on H H/OBH special projects as assigned
  • Oversee project management and quality improvement support to H H ED SUD service teams and ED MAT initiatives at 11 acute care facilities
  • Oversee recruitment of Peer Counselors, Mental Health clinicians, and Medical providers for ED SUD/CATCH service teams
  • Liaise with Revenue Cycle, Phycare and additional finance colleagues to optimize ED SUD service teams and ED MAT initiatives billing workflows and fiscal reports
  • Conduct EMR trainings, providing support to ED SUD/CATCH teams to ensure clinical documentation is in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
  • Facilitate workgroups and trainings with ED SUD/CATCH service teams and ED MAT Champions to ensure optimal SUD service delivery
  • Develop and optimize existing EMR clinical tools to assist in optimal SUD service delivery
  • Monthly and quarterly data reporting for ED SUD and ED MAT initiatives. Includes reporting of programmatic metrics for funders, and revenue reporting to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor and departmental leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Healthcare, Hospital, Public or Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior or a related discipline and three (3) years of full-time experience planning, developing and monitoring programs, systems and/or procedures in support of administrative management initiatives, one (1) year of which must have been in a responsible managerial or supervisory capacity; or

2. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed in “1” above and four (4) years of full-time experience, as outlined in “1” above, two (2) years of which must have been in a responsible managerial or supervisory capacity; or

3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.

Department Preferences

  • 3 years of increasingly responsible experience in a hospital or regulatory agency administration, with particular emphasis on development and evaluation of mental health delivery services
  • Possession of a valid license and current registration to practice in a mental health field issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) (preferred)
  • Experience and background at responsible management and administrative levels or,
  • An equivalent combination of training, educational background and experience in related fields and educational disciplines; and,
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of public health programming and evaluation, epidemiological data analysis and data translation.

KNOWLEDGEABLE IN :

  • Hospital organization, administration and standards, regulations and laws applicable to hospital operations. Knowledge of principles of business and personnel administration, management functions and support service functions
