NYC Health + Hospitals / Bellevue. is Hiring a Laboratory Technician Near New York, NY

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for conducting scientific research, performing laboratory tests, and analyzing data.

Duties:

(Various Openings)

Under direct supervision of a clinical laboratory technologist, supervisor or director, as appropriate, with limited exercise of independent judgment, performs clinical laboratory procedures and examinations.

1. Obtains, collects, and accessions specimens and labels with name, date, and source. Stores and preserves specimens and disposes of completed specimens.

2. Prepares specimens and performs or assists in the performance of routine tests and analyses, employing standard controls in accordance with stipulated procedures utilizing manual or automated techniques.

3. Prepares reagents and media according to prescribed formula. Maintains upkeep of designated laboratory instruments before and after usage.

4. Records results and submits reports of diagnostic tests, utilizing safeguards such as delta checks and quality control.

5.Operate and maintain laboratory equipment

6.Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment

7.Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot issues and optimize processes

8.Maintain accurate records of experiments, procedures, and results

Experience:
- Previous experience working in a research laboratory or industrial laboratory setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with scientific research techniques such as histology or molecular biology, chemistry, is a plus.

- Proficient in data collection, analysis, and interpretation

Minimum Qualifications:

. Valid license as a clinical laboratory technologist issued by the NYSED
