This position is primarily responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, work papers and other reports. Must meet monthly deadlines and prepare special reports and projects as requested.

This is a hybrid role based in Aliso Viejo, CA.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries in several areas and specifically: Revenue Recognition, Cash Receipts, System Adjustments, Accrued Check Refunds, Credit Card Refunds, 3rd Party Pass Through Dollars, Deferred Revenue
• Prepare reconciliations and work papers and other reports in accordance with professional standards on a timely basis
• Investigate variance analysis and prepare solutions for improvement
• Meet month-end close deadlines
• Assist with audit request lists
• Detect and reconcile discrepancies in financial records and maintaining all relevant documentation and work-papers.
• Prepare special reports and projects as requested
• Flexibility to cross-train for other duties and areas in the accounting group
• Implement process change to improve internal controls and reporting that adheres to GAAP
• Observe current processes and recommend/implement improvements that will increase efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting
• Work in a high-paced, energetic environment

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE AND OR LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; and zero to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Intermediate Excel skills required
