About this Role:

The Health Insurance Eligibility Specialist is responsible for working with payors, community agencies, government agencies and care managers to ensure the highest quality for all our customers. This position will establish workflows, and processes to efficiently and effectively check health insurance eligibility for our meal services t and get authorizations for new clients that we are working to enroll in our services. This position will also explore with potential clients' other areas for our meal service options through outreaching to county agencies and other resources. This is on site role. Our main office is located in Hackettstown, NJ.

Experience/Knowledge:

• Associate Degree in healthcare or business, or completion of medical insurance training or equivalent experience
• 3 years of previous health insurance verification experience in a regulated environment
• Experience understanding managed care plans, health systems, or government agencies
• Strong organizational skills along with excellent oral and written communication ability
• Flexibility to be a hands-on player
• Work independently and autonomously while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to navigate multiple computer systems, and applications, and utilize search tools to find information
• Must be detailed oriented, extremely organized, able to simultaneously work on numerous efforts and demonstrate incredible persistence and determination when dealing with complicated and difficult scenarios with insurance payers
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and adjust as needed in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work effectively in both a team and individual environment
• Excellent computer, organizational and follow-up skills: Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, CRM Sales database

Core Tasks/Duties:

• Support the mission and vision of the company.
• Be passionate about nutrition and helping others.
• Outreach to care managers, community agencies, potential clients to determine health insurance information.
• Review and obtain health insurance eligibility. Determine if in network
• Request single case agreements if appropriate
• Research other avenues for home meal services options ie county, grants and contracts
• Maintain all eligibility requests, outreach and resolution.
• Assists with the Medical Biller for any medical billing needs as appropriate.
• Monitors eligibility request and stay on top of all tickets for verification processes.
• Internal reporting of verification approvals and payor information
• Work in partnership with leadership, customer service and medical billing ensuring of new client enrollment.
• Stay up to date with healthcare regulations and health insurance information.
• Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
• Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
• Stay current with the most recent health-related and industry trends as well as healthcare policy.

Working Conditions:

• This position will report to our main office in Hackettstown, NJ -- it is on site.
• A typical work week will include Monday-Friday. This may include a shift in schedule due to holidays and/or extended hours as business dictates or as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
