Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President, Nutrien Financial.

What you will do:

  • Execute the global business strategy to provide a global Financial Services offering to our customer base.
  • Oversee and guide the infrastructure, policies, procedures, and product offerings to support the business.
  • Direct, evaluate, and develop a team of senior leaders to ensure that the organization's financial services strategy is implemented effectively, consistently, and according to established guidelines.
  • Integrate the Nutrien Financial activities, offerings, and strategies into the Retail business. Increase finance penetration rates.
  • Ensure proper risk-adjusted returns to compensate for the risks associated with the business.
  • Work with Credit to align policies, procedures and risk tolerance levels that will both support growth in the business as well as contain risk at targeted levels.
  • Build out of technology infrastructure to support growth, reduce cost/time to serve and create operating leverage in the business.
  • Regularly interface with members of the Executive/Senior Leadership Teams, Board Members, Rating Agencies, Financial Institutions, and Insurance Companies.
  • Lead responsibility for the growth & increased adoption of Nutrien Financial offerings, including strategies to expand Nutrien Financial Globally
  • Manage all third-party lending relationships in North America including BNS, JDF and ARM, and optimize programs for the benefit of Nutrien. Implement a strategic review of the use of third-party lenders globally and implement changes as needed.
  • Oversight of all budgets, financial planning, analysis & reporting in support of Nutrien Financial captive globally
  • Oversight of integration and development of global IT solutions in support of the Nutrien Financial strategic roadmap including facilitation of Project Foundation (ERP implementation).

What you will bring

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in commercial lending (required); experience working for or with captives preferred.
  • Accelerated career growth path in a global senior financial management position.
  • Private sector experience, preferably in a complex environment with a multi-jurisdictional or global organizational scope, would be ideal.
  • Minimum 10 years leading and managing financial teams; demonstrated experience in building and mentoring high-performing teams.
  • A combination of strong strategic orientation, expertise in understanding marketing and customer relationships, a strong understanding of financial products and the ability to collaborate and influence across a diverse, global organization.
  • Experience in the development and execution of financing strategies to leverage supplier and customer relationships.
  • Negotiation of major contracts and financial product agreements.
  • Financial leadership with a deep understanding of financial analysis and financial reporting.
  • Presentation of Financial Results/Corporate Strategy in Board meetings.
  • Demonstrated leadership in the development of people.
  • Demonstrated abilities in strategy development.
  • Knowledge of the Agriculture and/or Chemical Industry, Micro/Macro Economic and Political indicators.
  • Knowledge of Financial Services regulatory environment.
  • Highly advanced finance expertise across accounting, finance, and treasury disciplines.
  • Strong knowledge of the financial, credit, banking, and insurance communities.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary Range: $250,000 - $295,000 USD annually. This range is estimated for the Vice-President, Nutrien Financial role in Loveland, Colorado. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

We provide an attractive benefits package that includes comprehensive medical, dental, vision coverage, and life insurance and well as disability coverage for positions working more than 30 hours per week. In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan and long-term incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our plan(s), which provide discretionary award opportunities reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.
