Position Overview:

Maü Miami is seeking an experienced and passionate Sommelier to enhance our guests' dining experiences with expert wine selections and pairings. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of wines, excellent communication skills, and a dedication to providing exceptional service. As a Sommelier, you will work closely with our culinary team to curate a wine list that complements our Mediterranean-inspired menu and delivers unforgettable dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Curate and maintain an extensive and diverse wine list that complements the menu.
• Provide expert wine recommendations and pairings to enhance guests' dining experiences.
• Conduct wine tastings and educate staff and guests about wine regions, varieties, and tasting notes.
• Manage wine inventory, including ordering, stocking, and organizing the wine cellar.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of all wine and beverage inventory.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to create wine pairings for special events and seasonal menus.
• Train front-of-house staff on wine service, etiquette, and sales techniques.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase wine sales and revenue.
• Provide exceptional guest service, addressing inquiries and resolving any issues related to wine service.
• Stay current with industry trends, new wine releases, and emerging wine regions.
• Maintain relationships with wine suppliers and negotiate favorable terms.
• Uphold Maü Miami’s standards of service, hospitality, and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Sommelier or similar role in a high-end restaurant or hotel.
• Certified Sommelier certification from a recognized institution (e.g., Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET).
• Extensive knowledge of wines, including varietals, regions, and production methods.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional hospitality training or education is a plus.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus but not required.
