Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)

Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.

Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.

Dismantle defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.

Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.

Must have some electrical trouble shooting experience. Controls Systems.

Ability to operate various types of equipment including forklift, platform lift, etc.

Operates welder, plasma cutter and cutting torch.

Knowledge of hand tools, power tools and pneumatic tools necessary.

Knowledge of the following equipment: packaging equipment, shredding equipment, belt conveyors, water pumps, pneumatic conveying equipment, and air filter equipment.

Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.

Hydraulics knowledge

Good Housekeeping and organization skills

Needed fabrication of parts and components for production equipment.

Additional jobs as requested by management.

Experience:

*Mechanically inclined --Entry Level to Skilled Experience (Willing to train)

*Previous Farm Equipment knowledge/Car Repair/Machine Repair a plus

Other Qualifications:

Must complete training required by MIOSHA Standards.

Lockout/Tagout procedures on equipment

Confined Space Entry

Hearing protection

Forklift operator permit

Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)

Hazard Communications

PPE/Personal Protective Equipment

Hot Work Safety Procedures

Physical Demands Ability to climb and if necessary work off a ladder.

Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds.
