Description

•  Able to process a Request for Quote (RFQ) from customer or internally supplied engineering information to determine manufacturing feasibility and fit to company capabilities before establishing the optimal processing path to created electronic estimates and methods for the Sales group to submit
• Prepares estimates using system software from supplied and gathered information, builds out the BOM structure, sets the manufacturing processing order, assigns costs, and establishes suggested sell prices
• Ensures estimates have sufficient operating margins to meet stated company goals
• Maintains focus on assigned projects to ensure they are completed accurately and timely to meet all customer requirements
• Identifies possible changes to materials or methods to improve efficiency, increase profitability and insure repeatability for the product in question and communicates those suggestions through the sales team for customer review and feedback
• Coordinates with suppliers and the Purchasing group to identify sources for purchased items and to determine expected costs
• Identifies tooling requirements and coordinates cost estimates with internal tooling department and/or outside suppliers
• Organizes and stores all relevant files related to the RFQ for use by the Engineering team if the estimate becomes an order
• Provides support to Engineering, Production, Sales, Quality and other internal departments as needed
• Communicates with management, supervisors, and internal teams as needed to receive instruction, coordinate activities and facilitate timely workflows through all pre-production and production processes

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in sheet metal manufacturing or equivalent trade education
• · Experience with computer systems is required including:

o Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

o ERP Quoting software (Epicor or PaperlessPARTS )

• · Ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.
