JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective – The technician is responsible for performing daily testing for quality control purposes. The quality control lab technician is responsible for conducting the chemical and microbiological testing of raw materials and products from different stages during production. The technician is responsible for the data entry of the daily test results. Prob

Essential Functions

· Perform daily tests for conducting the chemical and testing of raw materials, bulk, and products from different stages during production.

· Document test data, such as pH, water activity, and moisture content, and assist make decision for product acceptance and rejection based on the results to the product specification.

· Provides quality disposition of the analysis and coordinates out-of-specification investigation.

· Assistant in instrument maintenance and cleaning.

· Communicate effectively with peers, management, and external laboratory.

· Follow good laboratory techniques, practices, and procedures.

Competencies

Must be detail oriented.

Must be able to work effectively without supervision.

Must be competent with Microsoft Excel

Must be competent with laboratory testing equipment.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree with 0-2 years of analytical lab or quality control experience.

Master’s degree with 0 years of analytical lab or quality control experience.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to food scents, some food allergens, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the sampling work environment and job sites can be loud.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Six days per week. Hours and days of work varied depending on shift and production demands.

Must be authorized to work in the US.
