The Commodity Manager is responsible for leading all value creation activities within assigned commodities to drive continuous improvement within the KPIs of On-time Delivery, Quality and Cost. Also, responsibilities will include global commodity management, strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and stakeholder engagement for external direct material spend.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Develop and execute Commodity Strategies to enhance supplier value offering, optimize costs and reduce supply chain risks.
• Manage cost reduction strategies, including supplier negotiations, spend aggregation, cost structure improvements, alternate materials, and alternate sources.
• Utilize data-driven and collaborative approaches for supplier negotiations and contract management.
• Be primary supplier relationship owner and lead Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) efforts, ensuring supplier performance and pursuing supplier development opportunities.
• Analyze and maintain market intelligence and detailed knowledge of assigned commodities.
• Lead or participate in various projects such as new supplier search, product introduction, and risk mitigation while collaborating with internal stakeholders for successful execution.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to travel up to 30% domestically & globally.
•  5 years’ experience in Procurement and Commodity Management
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with assigned commodities
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering (required)
• MBA or MS degree in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering (desired)
• SAP Purchasing experience (desired)
• Chemical industry background (desired)
