Novelis Manufacturing Excellence is Hiring a Remote Global EHS Specialist

Position Overview

Position Overview:

The Novelis Global EHS team is seeking a Global EHS Specialist. The person in this role will report to the Global VP of EHS. The EHS Specialist functions as a strategic partner, champion, and supporter, and will be responsible for supervising the EHS management system, change management, and communications. The incumbent runs global EHS campaigns, safety programs, and coordinates Global Safety Week, ensuring effective communication programs across Novelis. Additionally, they support overall EHS compliance efforts, facilitate training and other EHS development programs, conduct data analysis, participate in EHS audits, and provide support for the implementation of Plant of the Future initiatives, aiming for continual improvement and risk mitigation.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the EHS Management System supporting the organization in using EHS management system tools and procedures and acting as a catalyst and sharing knowledge.
  • Run global communication campaigns including design, support, and implementation such as Global Safety Week.
  • Support the maintenance and implementation of safety programs and compliance plans, including Safety Absolutes and Hand Safety across Novelis.
  • Manage Incident Tracker including review and management of Corrective Action, Preventive Action (CAPA), and monthly incidents, including providing feedback to plants when needed.
  • Manage Hierarchy of Control data, keep track of status with plants, and update dashboards and presentations as needed.
  • Coordinate EHS data analysis to address data-driven decisions, campaigns, and actions.
  • Lead EHS monthly reports including leadership reports, statistics reports, community reports, etc.
  • Coordinate logistics for Global Training Programs including Cornerstone, in-person training, school of EHS, and others.
  • Coordinate EHS Professional Capabilities Plan including Competence Assessment and Development programs.
  • Coordinate global award programs, including logistics and communications.
  • Support global audit program, including participating in audits and creating related reports and statistics.
  • Establish a cohesive global process to support plants in implementing the EHS Plant of the Future approach when applicable.
  • Recognize opportunities and provide ideas to mitigate risk, turning it into a potential project to enhance our EHS 4.0 framework.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an EHS program or related field
  • Confirmed experience (at least 5 years) as an EHS Specialist in a dynamic and multi-disciplinary environment
  • Technical Knowledge concerning hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk control.
  • Experience related to communication campaigns, project management, plant environments.
  • Experience related to Industry 4.0, Predictive Analytics and Artificial Intelligence
  • Experience in Root Cause Analysis
  • Ability to connect with all levels of the organization.
  • Project Management skills
  • Microsoft suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Human and Organizational Performance Strategies
  • ISO 14001 and OHSA'S 18001 Lead Auditor training
  • Advanced training in Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection, Control of Hazardous Energy, Machine Guarding, Cranes & Lifting devices, Mobile Equipment and Pedestrian Safety
  • Experience in Sophisticated Root Cause Analysis
