The Novelis Spokane MMP team is seeking a Technologist. The person in this role will report to the Operations Leader. The ideal candidate will work with industrial scale molten aluminum processes in a research environment. A high emphasis on safety in an industrial environment is a requirement, as well as adhering to the Novelis Safety Absolutes. Processes include but are not limited to working with aluminum melting furnaces, alloying aluminum, DC (direct chill) casting, and CC (continuous casting). Candidate will work as part of a team, as well as individually.

Responsibilities:

• Adhere to Novelis safety system, as well as be a proponent of always putting safety first.
• Support the planning, organizing, execution and documentation of results for operations or trials.
• Collect data from experimental work or trials and effectively presents technical information.
• Perform analysis of data and make product or process recommendations based on analysis.
• Participate in regular review meetings with co-workers on joint projects.
• Train, operate, troubleshoot and compose SOPs for different types of equipment.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks without sacrificing quality of work.
• Ability to own a problem and take it to resolution.
• Independently address moderately complex problems and take ownership of processes and procedures.
• Deliver on time, quality results from routine tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma
• At least 2 years of experience in industrial workforce
• Solid computer skills with Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in relevant field or equivalent math/technology background.
• 2 years of experience in molten aluminum industry, preferably in DC casting

• Max:$110,110

Senior Technologist:

• Min: $93,000
• Max: $122,000
