Position Overview

The Novelis Data Engineering team is seeking a Data Engineering Intern. The ideal candidate will be responsible for helping to convert existing ETL pipelines from Informatica to Python/PySpark pipelines.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities: 

• Build a solution to migrate from the legacy Informatica DEI based ETL to the cloud based ETL framework coded in PySpark. This migration will need to be done for the Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement and Finance data sets. 
• Learn the existing data models, developed by the Digital Team, and help convert the current Pipelines from Informatica DEI to PySpark. 
• Learn/understand the functional processes within Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing Operations etc., and understand common data manipulation and transformation tasks. 
• Understand software development lifecycle and work in a professional environment. 
• Learn Databricks, PySpark, Git, Azure DevOps and other tools that are used within Novelis’ Analytics ecosystem. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Masters in Software Engineering or currently enrolled in a program 
• A proficient understanding and write efficient code using Python, SQL, and PySpark based framework 
• Understanding of Agile development processes 

• Understanding of git workflow and CI/CD. 
• Experience in Collaborative and Iterative Development 
• Desire for continuous development and learning opportunities 
• Strong analytical, organizational, presentation, and time management skills
