Job Title: Full-time Speech-Language Pathologist

Location: Novato Unified School District, Novato, CA

Position Overview:

Novato Unified School District is seeking a dedicated and qualified Full-time Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. The Speech-Language Pathologist will play a vital role in providing speech and language therapy services to students within our district. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the communication skills and academic success of students.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' speech and language abilities.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on assessment findings and collaboration with the student's educational team.
  • Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students in individual or group settings, addressing areas such as articulation, language comprehension, expressive language, fluency, and pragmatics.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions and strategies to improve communication skills and address speech and language disorders.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate speech and language goals into the students' educational plans and classroom activities.
  • Monitor students' progress towards speech and language goals, adjust treatment plans as needed, and communicate regularly with the educational team and parents regarding progress and recommendations.
  • Provide consultation and training to school staff on strategies to support students' communication needs in the classroom.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of speech and language therapy services provided, including progress notes, reports, and treatment plans.
  • Stay current with best practices, research, and trends in speech-language pathology through professional development activities and participation in professional organizations.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of California.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
  • Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of assessment and intervention techniques for a wide range of speech and language disorders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Dedication to promoting communication skills, literacy, and academic success for all students.
