The Finance Analyst role is responsible for providing financial, analytical, reporting and decision support as a member of the JADAK business unit FP&A team of Novanta. This role reports directly to JADAK’s Manager, Finance. This role is a business partner to the leaders of all the JADAK functions (such as Operations, Sales & Marketing and Research and Development). The role is also expected to provide insights and information to help the company make better business decisions. The candidate must be a “hands on” individual contributor; who enjoys challenges and thrives in a demanding and changing environment. Primary Responsibilities Lead budgeting and reporting processes including developing financial models, key metrics, multi-year financial projections and alignment of financial and operational reporting and analysis Facilitate data-driven decision making, across all functions and leaders. Develop and lead the monthly & quarterly financial forecasting and planning process for all JADAK functions to predict operating results, and help drive better business outcomes. Supports the preparation and review of the annual operation plan, and partners with functional teams and finance leaders to understand the expected future performance of the company Leads the monthly and quarterly financial analysis process globally across all product lines, which includes detailed analysis of the P&L and Balance Sheet to gain specific insights and make recommendations for business improvements. Proactively identify process improvements, cost efficiency initiatives, while helping to drive stronger ownership over the businesses productivity programs to drive better financial outcomes Help build out a strong FP&A function, including strong processes and controls, development of new system tools and analytics, stronger partnership with other finance functions, and developing advanced analytics tools Assist and lead special projects as needed. General tasks Strict compliance with the quality, occupational safety and environmental regulations. Implementation of the instructions of the quality / environmental management representative and the occupational safety specialist. Required Experience, Education, Skills and Competencies BS degree in finance or accounting CPA or MBA preferred 2 - 4 years progressive experience in financial planning and analysis Exceptional financial, analytical, and modeling skills desired Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Hyperion/HFM, and Oracle strongly desired Demonstrated success in process improvement initiatives, including problem identification & mitigation Experience in industrial manufacturing market; industrial business controller/manager preferred Excellent written, verbal, analytical skills; strong interpersonal skills Self-starter with the demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced unstructured atmosphere with minimal supervision Travel Requirements Less than 10% Physical Requirements Mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer.
