The role of the CNC Operator is vital to the efficient running and organization of the machine shop. The operator will coordinate with the supervisor to prioritize the shop schedule for maximum productivity from our machinist talent and our machine tool resources. The primary function is loading and unloading parts in CNC machining centers, deburring and getting parts ready for plating. Responsibilities Organizing and prioritizing work. Interact with CNC Machinists on CNC program details. Other duties as assigned to promote optimal customer satisfaction. Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc. Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in a manufacturing environment. Requirements High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Trade School, College Certificates and/or Degrees in Manufacturing Technology and CNC Programming are a plus. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers. English speaking and writing skills are required. Spanish or Vietnamese communication skills are a plus. Ability to solve practical problems is required. Ability to interpret instructions from written, verbal, drawn, sketched, or database sources is required. Compensation and Benefits The base pay for this position ranges from $25.55 per hour to $38.33 per hour depending on the geographic market. Novanta supports all aspects of your life.
