Responsibilities Works closely with new product developers to fully understand all key features and provides suggestions for their improvement and usability in customer applications. Creates applications notes, technical notes and videos that demonstrate product capability. Materials are used globally by customers and Celera teams Develops and deploys the necessary materials, resources, and capability to enable efficient selection and application of products Runs product tests in the applications engineering lab to develop deeper understanding of performance limitations in preparation for customer evaluations Develops customer documentation, including user manuals, data sheets and performance data Prepares and delivers training on products and product integration into various applications to sales team, customer, and channel partner Provides pre-sale product/technical support to ensure proper product specification and selection as needed Provides post-sale product/technical support of installation and integration as needed. Responds promptly to all customer questions, comments and concerns Evaluates any issues with customer units and works with engineering and others to correct and improve product features Required Knowledge, Skills, Attributes and Education B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Physics 3 years of experience in design engineering, applications engineering, high technology sales support, or field service Written and verbal communication skills: Must be highly responsive and capable of effectively communicating with customers, peers, supervisors, engineering, manufacturing and quality colleagues Ability to communicate complex concepts in easy-to-understand ways Logical thinker and excellent problem solver Drive to win, desire to work with customers and help them solve complex problems Sense of urgency with personal commitment to the success of the customer, your products and your teammates Positive, can do attitude, strong engagement skills, especially with customers and peers Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time and be flexible enough to change priorities with short notice when necessary Able to effectively project the “face of Celera” to potential and existing customers and distributors Displays high moral and business code of conduct Respectful of customers, peers, subordinates and supervisors Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook Preferred Knowledge of and experience in developing, using, or troubleshooting motion control components/systems Experience with motion control, photonics, machine vision, industrial, medical equipment or manufacturing automation products, applications and technology Experience with Adobe Premier or other video editing/post production software Experience with Adobe InDesign or other desktop publishing software Experience with TriCaster Mini video production system Familiarity with SalesForce.com or other Customer Relationship Management tools Familiarity with Oracle or other Enterprise Resource Planning tools Other Requirements Must possess a valid passport and be able to travel internationally, if required. May require up to 30% travel.
