About the RoleReporting to the Head of Development, Regional Market Directors are responsible for leading the advancement of our development pipeline; focusing on identifying greenfield opportunities through successful delivery of profitable projects. As a player-coachesmarket directors lead their own wind, solar, and storage projects, whileproviding leadership to a team of developers and external consultants.

This is a hybrid role, working 3-days a week in our Austin, TX office,when not traveling to site locations.

  • Identify development prospects and advance project development activities, both through individual contributions and by managing a team of internal and external subject matter experts.
  • Ensure project plans are created and maintained, and regularly report on project budgets, schedules, and financial metrics to ensure company leadership has a clear understanding of the project- and portfolio-level risk and status.
  • Lead complex negotiations with external stakeholders
  • Work with SMEs to obtain interconnection, permits and other crucial project milestones.
  • Collaborate with internal resources on the due diligence and integration of acquired projects
  • Provide thought leadership and critical thinking to advance the development portfolio
  • Provide project data to finance team to support accurate financial modeling of projects
  • Collaborate with internal resources on diligence and integration of acquired projects
  • Support diligence for project financing and commercialization
  • Ability to disseminate knowledge and experiences to coworkers to support their development.
  • Address competency gaps; acquire, develop and retain talent through thoughtful leadership
  • Lead hiring, interviewing and onboarding of new team members

About YouYou’re an experienced leader, managing teams and with a track-record of taking utility-scale renewable projects through key milestones. You thrive in a nimble and adaptive business environment.

  • 7 years of progressive experience in project development and project management within renewable energy, leading a project through COD preferred
  • Technical understanding of wind, solar, battery energy storage systems, and transmission systems
  • Proven ability to successfully lead negotiations with external stakeholders and maintain relationships
  • Experienced in managing competing priorities, delegating workload, and delivering on project schedules
  • Strong understanding of US Power Markets, with development experience across multiple markets strongly preferred
  • Strong financial acumen with an ability to speak to economic drivers of projects, and understanding to tax equity
  • Ability to travel domestically as needed
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and possession of a valid driver’s license
