Processes and record routine accounting transactions related to payment and receipt of money into the district’s accounting software. Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts and documenting business transactions. Analyzes financial data related to income/expense reporting and detailing assets & liabilities reports. Prepare balance sheet, profit & loss statements as well as other financial reports which summarize the school’s current and projected financial position.

QUALIFICATIONS
2 year college (accounting-business)
5 years working experience (accounting)
Some working knowledge of TEA’s Financial Accountability System Resource Guide (FASRG) desirable. Understanding of School Accounting Codes Structure
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written or oral form. Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel with effective public speaking skills before large groups.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
REASONING SKILLS
Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to use basic office equipment and the ability to learn and use other software as necessary.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Criminal records check, pre-hire and annually thereafter, if applicable. Must be eligible to work in the United States and provide work authorization.
