PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operates production machinery by prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include lathes, grinders, mills, and similar equipment.
• Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.
• Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area
• Operates industrial fork truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and product
• Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
• Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
• Performs Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience 
• completion of on-the-job training may be substituted for educational requirements ability to follow written and oral instructions
• 1 year with machine operation

• Ability to work overtime and shift work as required.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or control; talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 
• Employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to hot, cold, wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
