SCIENCE TEACHER JOB DESCRIPTION
Notre Dame College Prep, a Catholic, all-boys high school, located in Niles, Illinois, is seeking a well-qualified science teacher. The teacher is appointed by the Principal and serves under the direct supervision of the Department Chairperson. The teacher exercises a leadership role within the classroom. Responsibilities of the teacher involve the establishment of a learning climate within the classroom and school that integrates Gospel values with sound instructional pedagogy in the content area. This person in this position should be prepared to teach Chemistry while teaching additional science subject areas or electives is preferred.

Specific accountabilities shall include, but not be limited to:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor degree in content area or teaching in that content area, excellent communication skills, an energetic and outgoing personality, strong administrative/organizational skills, and familiarity with 1:1 technology, Google for Education, and basic computing are essential.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Master degree in science, engineering, a related field, or education, experience in secondary education, and experience in a Catholic school setting are preferred.
Physical Working Conditions:
Must be able to lift light weight objects (1 to 10 pounds) with no repetitive bending or stooping. Occasionally lift average weight objects (10 to 20 pounds). Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Salary will be provided according to experience and education as dictated by salary scale.
