Our client is currently hiring for a Direct Support Professional in the Colchester CT area.

Schedules: 2nd or 3rd shift, Part time/Full time, Weekends are required:

• (Schedule#5) Sun 8a-4p, Mon 1:30p-10p, Tue 1:30p-10p, Fri 2p-10p, Sat 8a-3p
• (Scheudle#6) Thur 12a (midnight)-8a, Wed 10p-8a, Fri 12a-9a, Sat12a-9a

Summary:

Provide behavioral, residential, and/or other support services to individuals with Developmental Disorders and Intellectual Disabilities to assist in the health, safety and overall, well-being of each individual/client. Duties of the job include but are not limited to:

• Supporting individuals with activities of daily living (getting dressed, cooking, cleaning, bathing, toileting, laundry, etc.)
• All household chores
• Transporting individuals (as needed)
• Organizing activities
• Client checks and monitoring
• Medication administration (only if you have a current MED certification)
• Doctors’ appointments (as needed or required by specific facilities)
• Properly documenting per facility requirements
• Occasional lifting
• Teaching and engaging
• Implementing good routines
• Grocery shopping and running errands (as needed or required by specific facilities)
• Deescalating situations and managing behaviors

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
• Experience working in the behavioral health field
• Experience working with individuals with development disabilities
• Current PMT Certification (preferred)
• Current CPR/FA Certification (preferred)
• Med Certification (preferred)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: Up to $18.46 per hour
