Job Purpose:

The Journeyman Machinist will program, set-up, and operate CNC Machining equipment such as Lathes and Vertical and Horizontal Mills to produce parts to meet customer specifications.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Obtain work orders with instructions and prepare workstation with the appropriate materials
• Load material into clamps, fixtures, or vices and run the machine
• Follow all applicable internal procedures and job router instructions
• Inspect product for quality and compliance with customer specifications using metrology equipment
• Produce, update and manage the machine programming, with the assistance of the Machining Foreman
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the workstation and department
• Be flexible and versatile to fill-in in other areas to meet the needs of ever-changing bottlenecks.

Job Requirements:

• Experience with aerospace part setups
• 5 years of programming experience
• Experience with programming
• Experience with ERP Systems
• Experience with MasterCAM preferred, but any CAM based software experience can be substituted.
• Experience in a job shop preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Be able to stand for at least 2/3rds of a 10 hour shift
• Must be able to use your fingers and hands to operate the machines, and also to physically inspect parts produced.
• Must be able to stoop or kneel.
• Must be able to hear the sounds of the machine operating to detect malfunctions.
• Must have vision capable of seeing color, peripherals, depth perception, and focus both close and distant.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $44.00 per hour
