Northwest Linings & Geotextile Products, Inc. has openings for Installation Supervisors (Geosynthetics). We are a well-established, family owned and operated Geosynthetic Supply and Install Construction Company in business for over 51 years and looking for an Installation Supervisor with 10 years’ experience.

You will manage an installation (construction) crew that will travel the Western United States and Pacific to install geosynthetic liner systems, primarily at solid-waste landfills, wastewater facilities, industrial facilities, and other related industries. Geosynthetic liner materials include geomembranes, geocomposites, geosynthetic clay liners (GCLs), geotextiles that are installed as a system to contain liquids, gases, and solids, for the benefit of the environment and human health.

You will be responsible for developing and leading a high-performing and customer-focused team to install these materials and systems safetly and efficiently, in keeping with our company’s mission to ensure the safest practices in all of our work while ensuring the highest customer satisfaction in the industry.

Northwest Linings Supervisors are considered the front-line safety person for all work locations and are a direct representative of company management. Northwest Linings Liner Supervisors are required, at a minimum, to perform the following:

Major Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ensure all assigned projects are completed according to Northwest Linings safety policies and procedures and in accordance with customer/project specifications, with continuous and effective communication with Northwest Linings Project Managers and Senior Project Manager.
  • Directly manage all on-site personnel & project operations related to materials deployment, field seaming, sewing, testing, and repairs.
  • Project management skills to manage tasks and resources necessary to ensure project schedules are met.
  • Create, ensure, and facilitate a worker’s right to invoke a “Stop Work” at any time. The “Stop Work” policy ensures a safe workplace, through which employees are allowed to stop work when he/she perceives an unsafe condition, equipment, or process. Work resumes after the safety concern is either eliminated, corrected, or better explained so that all are assured that work (conditions/equipment/process) are safe to resume.
  • Maximizing quality, production levels and efficiencies pertaining to all geosynthetic construction activities required by the project.
  • Communicating project progress, site conditions, equipment problems etc. to the Project Manager and/or Construction Manager.
  • Provide training & development to crew members, submitting timesheets & performance evaluations.
  • Perform maintenance on equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance.
  • Oversee and maintain clean, and organized equipment and supplies.

Requirements

  • Travel for extended periods, as necessary (100% of the time 7-9 months out of the year), with various breaks throughout the winter months.
  • Must be available to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
  • Must have computer skills and proficient in the use of Microsoft’s Office suite of products (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

  • Lift and carry 25-50 pounds regularly.
  • Hear and respond quickly to sounds or alerts.
  • Have dexterity sufficient to move safely over uneven or sloped terrain while maintaining balance.
  • See and respond to dangerous situations – and take necessary action to ensure a safe workplace as per ESI policy.
  • Work safely in extreme weather (hot & cold).
  • Wear personal protective gear correctly most of the workday.
  • Stand or stoop for extended periods of time.
  • Apply physical strength (pulling/pushing by hand) while deploying liner and other materials.
  • Obtain, and keep in good standing, a valid driver’s license and drive an F-350 pickup truck while pulling a trailer.
  • Ability to operate and be certified as an equipment operator for heavy equipment, including but not limited to, high reach forklift and skid steer loader.

  • Valid driver’s license (required)

  • Work permit (if non-US citizen)

Salary: $70,000.00 to $95,000.00/Yr.
