Northwest General Engineering is a family owned construction business in Santa Rosa, CA.

Shop Assistant duties consist of but may not be limited to:

- Working with & assisting mechanics to perform heavy equipment repairs

- Picking up supplies and parts as needed from local suppliers and dealers when needed.

- Delivering supplies & parts to jobsites & mobile mechanics when needed.

- Organizing and restocking shop stock items such as filters, fittings, standard hardware, lubricants & oils, etc.

- Keeping shop clean and tidy at all times to ensure a safe working environment.

- Pre cleaning & post cleaning of equipment prior to and or after scheduled or emergency repairs.

- Checking fluid levels, tire pressures, etc. of equipment after repairs have been completed.

- Other duties as directed by Shop Manager

This position is an entry level position.

The chosen candidate will receive on the job training.

Some preferred skills & qualifications consist of:

• General basic auto or heavy equipment mechanical knowledge.
• Experience using hand tools & air tools such as socket wrenches, impact drivers, etc.
• Safety conscious mindset
• Good listening skills and the ability to closely follow directions

* Must have clean driving record (employment eligibility subject to acceptance by Auto insurance provider)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per year
