The Manager- Corrections Program position is directly accountable to the Executive Director, Workforce Development.

The individual filling this position will lead the planning, development, instruction, and launch of the Trades Programs located at the Department of Corrections facility in Santa Rosa County, Okaloosa County, Bay, and Walton County. This position is an at-will employment position and is expressly contingent upon the existence and renewal of the Florida Department of Corrections and Northwest Florida State College Contractual annual agreement.

• To provide services directly to adult students incarcerated in the Department of Corrections Santa Rosa, Okaloosa County, Bay, and Walton County facilities.
• Work with the Executive Director to conduct program planning necessary to coordinate, implement, and achieve program objectives, making adjustments as necessary to ensure success of enrolled students.
• Supervises educational programs at Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Bay, and Walton correctional facilities.
• Maintains stringent reporting documentation and timelines.
• Act as main point of contact for correctional facilities, attend meetings, being main point of contact for each site.
• Complete all required Department of Corrections training activities.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate program and course curriculum, including learning assessments that directly align with industry demands.
• Hire instructors appropriate to level of expertise and actively recruit subject matter experts as full-time instructors.
• Provide leadership and provide main point of contact for instructors working in the correctional facilities.
• Must have the ability to participate in accurate budget planning, management and effectively operating within the approved budget.
• Maintains responsibility, accountability and inventory control for equipment and supplies for the department.
• As a part of the college's risk management tool, annual mandatory compliance training is required.
• Perform other duties as may be appropriately assigned to achieve the overall accomplishments of the program.

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution with five to seven years of documented related experience. Trade certifications and/or licensure may be substituted as needed.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, computer experience with Microsoft office or comparable software applications.
• Must be proactive, creative and innovative.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to act independently with minimum supervision.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Seven to ten years of related experience.
• Supervisor or management experience preferred.
• Experience working in corrections or related field.
• Program management experience at a high school, vocational, post-secondary, or corrections facility.
