Position: AssistantVolunteer Project Coordinator
Reports to: Director of Programs
FLSA Status: Part-Time, Non-exempt/hourly

Schedule: Afternoons/ Evenings and two Saturday's per month.
Purpose:
The Assistant Volunteer Project Coordinator will assist in planning and coordinating group projects and act as the liaison to individual and group volunteers in our Volunteer Center, ensuring the most positive and safe experience possible.
Duties and Responsibilities:
v Ensure positive experience for all volunteers through proper support, instruction, and supervision throughout shift.
v Greet Volunteer groups and individuals in volunteer welcome center, providing overview of safety, and scheduled project of the day.
v Guide volunteers through the scheduled project and support volunteers through provision of necessary supplies and answer questions throughout the shift.
v Maintain high standards for personal safety of all volunteers and staff.
v Demonstrate ownership for project room process improvement.
v For each group:
o Provide an estimate of pounds and meals worked through the shift.
o Educate groups on process and encourage individuals to return as recurring volunteers.
v Assist in maintaining inventory of labels, bags, tape and other supplies.
v Assist with weekly cleaning of the project room, and maintain cleanliness on a daily basis.
v As necessary, assist with other distribution center activities or duties assigned by supervisor.
Skills, Education, and Experience:
v Commitment to understanding and supporting the NWAFB mission, including but not limited to showing compassion to the food insecure.
v High School Diploma or equivalent.
v Excellent oral and written communication skills.
v Strong organizational skills; ability to work without supervision.
v High level of comfort speaking with groups of people.
v Must be able to manage multiple projects at one time
v Highly relationship-focused and people-oriented.
v Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, or other presentation software
v Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of liability insurance.
Job Specifications:
The physical demands of this position require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, including sitting, standing, walking, driving, pushing, pulling, stacking, frequent telephone and computer use. The position also requires the ability to work long hours and weekends as needed for special events and campaigns. This job description does not list all the duties of the job.
