About the opportunity:

Northspyre is looking for an experienced Principal Data Engineer to join our fast-growing, venture-backed start-up team. This is an opportunity to make a huge impact at a start-up disrupting the 10.5 trillion dollar real estate industry. We are a lean organization with minimal red-tape that prides itself on getting things done efficiently and effectively.

An ideal candidate is someone who is hands-on and self-driven and not afraid to dive into problems with minimal supervision. They should be able to set the foundation and scale our data infrastructure and help drive our vision forward.

You will be responsible for:

• Laying the foundation for our data infrastructure including but not limited to architecting and building out scalable systems like data pipelines, data warehouses, data lakes and all accompanying infrastructure.
• Building out statistical and ML models that can run on a production scale.
• Supporting data science, data analytics, engineering, and partnering stakeholders.
• Conceptualize and generate infrastructure that allows data to be accessed and analyzed effectively
• Leading, growing and mentoring the Data Team.
• Communicating with team members clearly and effectively.
• Collaborating with product, engineering and infra teams to deliver on key objectives.

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s / Master’s / PHD in Computer Science / Statistics or similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience as a Data Engineer / Data Scientist or related data field.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in building and supporting data pipelines and data warehouses.
• Advanced understanding of SQL.
• Experience with Statistical Modeling and ML.
• Server-side development experience utilizing Python and Java
• Experience working and building within AWS platform - RDS, Redshift
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and deliver results
• Ability to lead and own data projects end to end
