Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks to fill a Principal Engineer Software /Senior Principal Engineer Software in the Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering organization supporting Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU) to support a Ground program. This position can be filled at our Morrisville, NC or Linthicum, MD offices. Responsibilities include the following: * Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions
* Ensures software standards are met
* Maintain and improve the software CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, bug free delivery of critical business software to production
* Set up and deploy Development, Test, and Build environments
* Create and update Windows installers
* Install, test, and verify software products
* Maintain multiple baseline repositories
* Provide support for the software build and installationBasic Qualifications for a Principal Engineer Software:
The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in Science; 3 years relevant experience with a Masters; 0 years relevant experience with a PhD. 9 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Basic Qualifications for a Senior Principal Engineer Software:
The candidate must have a minimum of 9 years relevant experience with a Bachelors in Science; 7 years relevant experience with a Masters; or 4 years relevant experience with a PhD. 13 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree. The candidate must have demonstrable experience with the following:
* Must have Java 1.8 experience.
* TS/SCI Cleared and must be willing to sit for Poly
* Collaborative and able to work with geographically distant parties.
* Developing in an automated CI/CD pipeline, unit testing, integration testingPreferred Qualifications:
* Front end experience and/or interest in using JavaScript frameworks, (Destiny)
* Working in Agile environment
* Developing using microservice architecture in a Cloud environment
* Experience and/or interest in developing with AWS
* Space/Space Missions Domain Knowledge
* Experience with Rest & JMS
* Data processing knowledge
* Git, maven, helm, harbor
* Experience with Robot Framework, Cucumber, or other similar Automated Test Frameworks
* Proclivity for SW/Microservice Architecture and DesignSalary Range: $97,500 - $153,600
Salary Range 2: $121,000 - $190,600 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
